Pressure for Life
“Pressure For Life” is the largest national educational campaign on hypertension in Poland. In 2013 and 2014, our campaign reached almost 100 towns and villages. We checked the blood pressure of 326,000 Poles and distributed 750,000 copies of educational materials. All to encourage Poles to regularly check their blood pressure and raise their awareness of how to prevent circulatory disease.
The “Pressure for Life” campaign is a far-reaching initiative. Rather than being limited to isolated projects in selected Polish regions, it has uninterruptedly offered free blood pressure and heart age checks for the last eighteen months in a vast number of locations across Poland.
A PBS poll conducted one year into the campaign (in January 2014) found that people who had heard about the campaign were 15% more aware of circulatory disease risk factors than those who had not heard about it. 28% of people who had heard about the campaign declared that they had checked their blood pressure over the previous week – almost twice more than in the group of people who had not heard about it (15%).
Following a series of blood pressure and heart age checks held at shopping centres in Poland, the “Pressure for Life” mobile examination centre hit the road once again to visit a number of locations across the country. Keep an eye out for the vehicle marked with the campaign logo on Polish roads and visit the mobile centre to consult with a team of qualified nurses, who will take your blood pressure free of charge and also check your heart’s age using an innovative app.
