Polpharma is a partner and co-author of the world’s first Ethical Programme
Polpharma is a partner and co-author of the world’s first Ethical Programme Minimum Standard developed by Global Compact Poland with Partners of the “Business and Human Rights“ Programme. This unique tool is helpful in the implementation of an ethical programme, based on the UN guidelines on business and human rights. The Standard was launched on 8 December in Warsaw. The event attracted representatives of the government and public administration, diplomacy, business and the academic community involved in matters pertaining to business ethics.
The Ethical Programme Minimum Standard was developed over a period of 1.5 years by some 90 organisations associated in the Ethics Ombudspersons Coalition set up by Global Compact Poland. The Standard may be useful for determining the business’ status with respect to the management of ethical issues and act as a tool for making improvements in this area. The pioneers of the adoption of the Standard in Poland are members of the project’s Steering Committee – institutions and organisations such as the Human Rights Ombudsman, Business Center Club, Konfederacja Lewiatan, Kulczyk Foundation, as well as companies: Polpharma, Skanska, Unilever, Ergo Hestia, PKP Energetyka, T-Mobile, EDF.
Development of the Minimum Standard is just the beginning. In 2017 campaigns propagating the Standard will be organised and analyses of the main risk areas risk and challenges facing individual sectors (pharmaceutical, construction, financial among others) will be carried out.
